About
I figure out how things actually work — then make them work better.
I started as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army, leading a squad of up to 20 soldiers. Then I spent more than 20 years owning and running my own fabrication shop: full P&L, a team that peaked at 32, every decision mine to make. Owning a company teaches you operations from the ground up. If a process is broken, it’s your problem to fix.
Today I lead reliability and the CMMS at a 24/7 commercial-scale manufacturing plant — maintenance through a supervisor and a crew of 12 technicians, daily cross-department coordination, shutdown and outage planning, and the plant’s asset data and critical-spares program.
Side note — for over two years I’ve been building AI systems, including industrial IoT and data architecture. I’d rather build the tool than wait for someone to sell me one.
What I do
Four things I’m good at
-
Maintenance & Reliability Leadership
Lead maintenance through supervisors, set priorities and workload, and build the reliability strategy that keeps a continuous plant running.
-
Shutdowns & Outages
Plan major outages end to end: timing, impacts, support, and day-of execution. Every department knows what’s coming before it happens.
-
CMMS & Asset Data
Asset hierarchies, naming standards, PM schedules, parts and critical spares, work-order history. The data a maintenance program actually runs on.
-
Industrial AI & Systems
Build practical AI and data tools for operations, with human checks on every decision that matters.
Proof
By the numbers
- 3.5+ yearsrunning the maintenance side of a daily company-wide meeting, unbroken
- 12technicians led through the Maintenance Supervisor
- 485assets moved to a new naming standard in a plant-wide CMMS migration
- 1,441work orders (6+ years of history) migrated, plus 113 PM schedules and 916 equipment documents
- 672-partcritical-spares register, 82 critical parts
- 83 panelswalked and traced for a plant-wide switchgear outage
- 49technicians covered by the skills and safety-qualification assessment I built
- 20+ yearsowning a business: full P&L, ~$1.2M peak annual revenue, up to 32 people
AI & Systems
I build the tools, not just the requirements
- 2+ years building AI systems, including self-hosted setups and multi-project AI agent workspaces with file-based memory, audit logs and verify-before-use rules.
- Industrial IoT and data architecture (AI-assisted): SCADA historian integration, ERPNext, PostgreSQL / TimescaleDB, n8n, MQTT.
- Building a VA-claims assistance agent (in development).
My rule for AI at work: let it do the heavy sorting and drafting, and keep a human checking every decision that matters.
